Welcome to Boy Scout Troop 660's website!

We meet at St. Irenaeus Church in the parish hall on Monday nights from 7:30 to 9:00pm.  

All boys who are 11 years of age, or 10 years old and finished with 5th grade or have earned the Webelos Arrow of Light award, and are not yet 18 years old are welcome to join Boy Scout Troop 660.    Boys and their families are not required to be members of St. Irenaeus Parish, or be Catholic.  Our troop is a diverse unit of boys who come together to grow as individuals and as members of a patrol.  If you are interested in learning more about or joining our Troop feel free to contact the Scoutmaster or Committee Chair for more information.  Boys who are under the age of 11 or have not finished the 5th grade are encouraged to check out Cub Scout Pack 660

Change in Start Times

CHANGE in Start time  

Camporee is just around the corner.  To help prepare for the tough competition, the start time for the next two Saturdays has been changed to 8:00 AM in the St. I parking llot.

Summer Camp Update Meeting on March 23 @ 6:30

Attending summer camp takes a great amount of preparation and coordination by everyone.  Since our departure date will be here before we know it, troop members that are planing to go to summer camp should attend the preparation meeting on Monday night at 6:30 pm at the benches outside the hall.  This will be the first of a few preparation meetings that take place before camp.   Feel free to bring dinner if you need to eat.  If your dinner smells and looks good, think about bringing a little taste for everyone.  If you have not signed up and would like to go to summer camp at Emerald Bay, it is not to late to jump in.  If you have questions or would like to sign up please contact Mrs. Sato by phone or at the Monday night meeting.

The second payment of $180 is due at the next troop meeting on Febuary 2, 2015.  To keep everyone on track and avoid price increases please make arrangements to pay Mr. Alcanio at the meeting.  If you have questions contact Mrs. Sato.

Summer Camp 2015 at Emerald Bay July 19 - 25

Summer 2015 sounds so far away however, it will be here before you know it.  Troop 660 Summer Camp will be at Emerald Bay which is located on beautiful Catalina Island.  The location offers a unique adventure that other summer camps are unable to provide.  Emerald Bay is an ideal camp take merit badges such as Oceanography, Scuba Diving*, Canoeing and Rowing,  Outside of merit badges, scouts can snorkel, ride mountain bikes, hike on the island, sleep on the beach, kayak, stand up paddle boarding, take on the mile swim in the ocean, participate in war canoes or earn PADI Scuba certification* and much more.  Early bird fees of $640 for Scouts and $440 for Adults apply to those who make a $100 deposit at the December 1 Troop meeting.  Space is limited so the non-refundable deposit will hold your place at camp.  See attached FAQ sheet including payment plan and registration form.  For additional information and to see Camp Emerald Bay, check out the following links: EB Camping Guide, EB Movie 1EB Movie 2, EB Movie 3,  EB Scuba Movie 1EB History Movie .  If you have additional questions, please ask Mrs. Sato or Mr. LoBue at the December 1st  meeting. Now is the time to commit!                          * Scuba training is an additional fee 

No Troop Meeting on November 24th

As Thanksgiving approaches, the troop will not be meeting on November 24 so that Scouts and their families can begin reflecting on the many things they are thankful for.  Happy Thanksgiving and please take a moment to help others who may not have the things your are thankful for.
